Thank you Dad
Whenever I see the sparkling sea
I think of you
The deep mystery and strong shades of blue
Remind me of your eyes
Eyes which watched over me from birth
And lit my path with mirth
Watching from near
Watching from far
Always watching, smiling, knowing
I listened to sonnets of Wordsworth
Recited by you
with passion and meaning and great understanding
You showed me how it feels to be protected
To have someone approve of every little thing you do
Nothing too small, nothing too great
Any effort I made was enough for you
When I was sick you stopped by
Laid your hand on my forehead
And prayed to the heavens for wellness ahead
All the years your prayers
Protected me from myself
Even after you left
And went to rest
In a place close to God
Thank you dad for the prayers and the poetry
Thank you
Sheryl
