“FAITH IS NOT SO MUCH A GIFT TO RECEIVE THINGS BUT RATHER A LIFESTYLE TO LIVE”
The modern church has reduced the issue of faith to a total materialistic gain of wealth; position and power & then goes on to use this gain to measure spiritually.
This constant longing for power; wealth & possessions is far too often seen as the BLESSING & EVIDENCE of the presence of God. It is in reality an ego trip robbing us of having an absolute need of GOD.
May we in these very tempting days to lose our need of GOD see us calling out on a regular basis?
“I NEED THEE EVERY HOUR MOST HOLY GOD”
Our club’s success, growth and achievements have been a great inspiration and treasure to me. Not only have we striven to do what our readers, poets, writers and art lovers need and want from a club, but also that we feel our involvement with our members is intimate, warm and special. Each and every person interested and involved in our club has contributed to the success and growth. Without the support of our poets, members, writers and art lovers our success and growth would not have been as great as we have come to experience.
Not only I am grateful to our members but I am extremely proud and grateful for the opportunity to be part of a club that works together as a team and family. Stan (editor & founder) and I are not only just members and part of a team; he is also my father, friend and partner. It is a privilege to work with and for him, and without his support, hard work and great effort the club would not have achieved such growth and potential. Not only do Stan and I work for the club but we have June (My mother) to thank for all the typing she has been doing on the anthologies. We are a family, team and friends working together to bring our readers and member the type of club they deserve and need to achieve their dreams, goals and potential in the world of Art & Literature. We as the members and family of this club feel that Art & Literature is a gift and close to our hearts and therefore it is a special treasure to share our home (club) with the people who feel as passionate about Art & Literature as we do. We strive to do our best, give our all and make all our members feel welcome and at home. Any suggestions and feedback from our club members are always welcome!! I have had the opportunity to introduce and write about my family and team and would like to invite you as member to let us know if you have any newsworthy article or message you would like to share with us and our members. If you or any school would like to place an article or message in our monthly newsletter please send an email to:

Have a great month; enjoy every day and moment spent with the ones you love. Live your dream and create the best memories to treasure for a lifetime.

Imagination the place to begin to set my sights much higher
Action is the step I take to have which I desire
Belief is all I need to see the picture’s in my head
I decide which path to take I can embrace or run instead
So opportunity is knocking at my door, am I open to receive?
Or do I tightly close my mind and let that gift just leave
Life is full of choices and I always must re-act
If I say no and watch my gift go, it’s never coming back
There’s really no dilemma I accept with my sights set high
I choose to share this gift with you it may help in your desire
It is not a surprise that many beginners fail to maintain a successful e-zine, because simply, it needs a good-natured tolerance to keep up with the plentiful complications one will face. It might seem easy at first, but take it from me; it gets quite nasty later on.
What you need to do first is figure out your target audience. You do not want to a send out a programming e-zine to a “household production development” group! If you are building an e-zine concerning books, you might want to get in touch with libraries and reading forums. This step comes before the building process; discovering your target audience and whether it will respond to what you have to offer is the first and foremost step.
One of the most important—and slightly annoying—things you need to do is to prepare a marketing plan to publicize what you are doing. This should be enough to build an initial subscriber list; something you can start off with.
After that, it is only wits and commitment that will keep an e-zine on its feet, desired by the audience you are targeting. Do not be taken aback by the difficulties that will arise; you will overcome them by team effort and high spirits.
We at Writer’s Beat work constantly to deliver a bi-monthly e-zine to writers around the globe. It has never been easy to create something that would appeal to most tastes, and it is not a lie that nerves tighten and havoc is wreaked around publication time, but the outcome is always rewarding.
At first, the idea of a writing e-zine was ingenuously simple that everyone considered with sheer interest. We did not begin with high expectations, but we unquestionably worked hard to produce something of value, something we are proud of. Now, Writer’s Club is an independent writing e-zine; though changing in layout, it has never lost the spirit of the collective effort.
Now, I look at Whisper Poetry and I see that a conscientious effort produced something unique. I am nothing short of amazed by the glamorous look of the website, by the genuineness of the ideas, and by the hard working staff who generously spend their energy in effort to keep such place alive.
So dear reader, before you embark on building your own e-zine, you need to realize that you would be spending endless hours on making such a project work. You need to realize that while pleasure and enjoyment are an undying element, gruelling work and devotion are too. And I, sincerely as ever, wish you all the luck.
I completed a very thorough education at an early age, and was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to live and work in France, and then in Germany.
Poetry didn’t really figure largely in my daily life at this time, although I read and enjoyed many of the works of the ‘greats’, my favourites being Rupert Brooke, Shakespeare and Wilfred Owen.
Years raced by, and I found myself back in Britain, the proud mother of five wonderful children, now ranging in age from 22 years to 7 years, all with a keen interest in poetry.
As they grew older and more independent, I discovered that I had a little more time on my hands, so I picked up a pen and astonished myself, and the family, by the volume and quality of poetry which simply flowed out.
I have been writing now for over a year, and the flood of words shows no sign
Of abating! Sonnets, free style, quatrains, Rondeaux, lilibonelle, even a few styles of my own, you name it, they keep on coming.
I decided, very recently to do something useful with these reams of words. I am currently editing my manuscript for publication in an anthology of poetry called ‘Baker’s Dozen’, published by the Cole Foundation for Arts, in USA. I am also working on a book of sonnets, in both traditional and modern forms, hopefully for publication sometime within the next year.
I find that writing and reading poetry has given me an outlet for my need to communicate my feelings and thoughts, to leave a record of whatever inspires me, and to share ideas and emotions in a creative way. I believe that everyone has a verse or two in them, some a whole book!
Much can be achieved by expressing oneself creatively in writing; relief of stress, achievement of potential, or simply the shared enjoyment of the written word.
Pick up a pen and just let the words flow. You may be surprised by what comes out. I was!

Canadian authors, Dave and Lillian Brummet, have been writing professionally since 1999. Dave and Lillian met and married 17 years ago in the province of BC, where they reside today. The Brummet’s have dedicated their work as freelance writers, authors, photographers, poets and gardeners to benefit the environment and society in some way. Dave’s computer, graphic, photography and editing skills has played a vital part in all three of their books. While, Lillian’s research, typing and marketing skills partner well with her husband’s talents, making them an effective writing team.
Dave and Lillian have written three non-fiction books: Purple Snowflake Marketing (yet to be released), Towards Understanding and Trash Talk. Trash Talk is an environmental guide that shows readers how they can save money while making their community become a more prosperous, attractive and healthier place to live simply by seeing waste as a resource. Towards Understanding is a collection of 120 chronological poems that depicts Lillian’s life: a young woman on her own before the age of 14, how she overcame various traumas and grew towards understanding the value of life and her place in it.
Lillian began writing poetry as a way of releasing her pent up emotions that were religiously hidden from the rest of her world. She found, that over time, she could actually learn to heal through her poems. When she originally took on the project of organizing the masses of poems written on loose-leaf pages, Lillian discovered there were over 300 poems. Occasionally, she gained the courage to share a poem to a few people, who were quickly brought to tears and encouraged her to enter contests with her work.
After much hesitation and contemplation, she relented and nervously entered her first contest. Her poem won an Editor’s Choice Award and was printed in a hardcover Anthology book. In time, her poems were published in five of these types of books, before she began submitting to magazines, newsletters and a few newspapers. Eventually, Lillian was ready to face her dream of seeing her poetry in one book. With Dave’s assistance, she gleaned out the most angry and upsetting poems, and those that were not fit for reader’s eyes… thus creating the manuscript for Towards Understanding – which was accepted by the first publisher it was submitted to and was released in November, 2005.
Dave and Lillian are excited to have had the opportunity to host the Earth Day Special online radio talk show on April 22nd at Passionate Internet Voices. The idea for the Earth Day special came about while the program director of the station was interviewing the Brummet's about their book Trash Talk on her show. The Earth Day Special focuses on ways proactive individuals can make a difference and will provide tools that any person can do to attain immediate benefits for the environment - and their communities.
The show will be archived indefinitely on the station’s website (http://internetvoicesradio.com) so people are welcome to listen to the show at their leisure. The Brummet’s have also been invited to host an online radio talk show on a monthly basis at this station in the future.
More information about the Brummet’s, excerpts from their books, articles they’ve written and environmental tips can be found through their websites:
