HEARING FROM GOD

July 2010

This column is dedicated to bringing a Word from God to all our visitors. It is, in the column of each month so far, remarkable to see how united the three of us are and how a VERY special likeness is portrayed in each article for the column.

May we find, each month, that little something that will draw us just that closer to Him where we will begin to hear Him just that much clearer. The desire of His heart is to commune with us and as we quietly sit at His feet may we hear the beating of His heart, feel the freshness of His breath and above all sit in awe in His presence.

This slot is intended to bless and challenge each one of us to “ That Better Place” which is “ Near to the Heart of God’.

The trio of Peter Kustner, Wally Justus and the Editor (Stan Almendro) will contribute a Word from God each month.

May you be blessed and please feel free to comment or just leave a word of thanks.

Mother Teresa once said when questioned about the time she spent with God and what She & God actually did during this time.

“WE JUST SIT THERE TOGETHER”

Let us find that place where we just sit there with God

WE HAVE A STRONG KINGSMAN-REDEEMER.

By Wally Justus

Jeremiah 50/34 Their Redeemer is strong; the Lord of hosts is His name. He will thoroughly plead their cause.

Ruth a young, poor and childless widow in the Old Testament lay at the feet of Boaz, her potential kinsman-redeemer. Ruth 3/7.
As a rich and close relative of her in-laws, Boaz had the power to redeem her from her situation.

1. Ruth means – A Friend. She is a picture of us, lost and no hope before we came to Jesus.
Now He calls us his friend. John 15/15.

2. Boaz means – In Him is strength. Jesus Christ is our heavenly Boaz, a mighty man of wealth. Ruth 2/1, Ephesians 1/3.
The Word made flesh is kin to us. Ruth 3/2, John 1/14. And can be touched with the feeling of our infirmities Hebrews 4/15.
Jesus gave Himself for us to redeem us from all iniquity, to purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Titus 2/14.
The field that belonged to Boaz shows that the earth is the Lord’s. Ruth 2/3, Psalm 24.
Jesus like Boaz came from Bethlehem. Ruth 2/4, Matthew 2/1.
Boaz invited Ruth to the table of bread and wine. Ruth 2/14, 1Corinthians11/23-30.

3.  We can see by the above that, “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”),
That the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Galatians 3/13-14.

Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. 1 Peter 1/18-19.

Ruth was simply obeying Naomi, her mother-in-law, who had told her to go and lie down at Boaz’s feet.
I the Jewish custom of those days, this was a posture which said, “Please redeem me for you are a close relative.”
Notice Boaz’s response to Ruth. “And now my daughter, do not fear, I will do for you all that you request” verse 11. That sounds like Jesus to me.

As our redeemer, not only is Jesus willing, but He also has the power to restore to you all that you have lost.
Just as Ruth lay at Boaz’s feet, the feet of Jesus is the place of redemption and blessings. Jairus, the synagogue ruler (Mark 5/22) and the Syro-Phoenician woman fell at Jesus’ feet, (Mark 7/25-26). And there at His feet they received healing for their daughters.

When you take your place at Jesus’ feet, looking to Him for help, expect to receive His blessings. There is nothing to fear knowing that as Boaz did for Ruth, Jesus, our heavenly Boaz will do for you.

Be blessed, you are highly favoured.

Love from Wallace and Sandra Justus.

YOUR TIME OF BREAKTHROUGH!

By Peter Kustner

1 Cor. 16: 9; For a great door and effectual is opened (formed) unto me, and there are many adversaries,
- to "form" means to develop or mould a shape or outline of something or to give meaning, character or nature to something,
- conditioning of our mind and body in regard to its mental performance ahead,
This includes conceiving, training, and disciplining,
Watch for NEW DOORS to FORM!

a. Time for harvest!

Most of us do not understand harvest time,
We must accept that a harvest has a process:
 i. the seed is cast and ploughed under in late winter,
ii. Prayer for rain–the early and the latter rain (Zech. 10),
iii. The grain was grasped and cut with the sickle (Deut. 16:9, Mark 4:29),
iv. The grain was gathered into sheaves,
 v. the grain was taken to the threshing floor,
vi. Tools were used for threshing,
  - You have tools for harvest,
vii. The grain was winnowed (tossed in the air),
 - let the wind blow away your chaff,
viii. The remaining grain was shaken into a sieve (Amos 9:9),
 - Some of us are in this process,
ix. The grain was brought into the storehouse,
 - find your storehouse;

b. Now, harvest must be protected,

Because the harvest has major enemies:
 i. drought - ask the Lord to identify & break all your dryness,
ii. Locust invasion - ask the Lord to remove any devouring in your harvest,
iii. Plant diseases (mould, mildew) - ask the Lord to remove any spiritual sickness in your life,
iv. Hot, scorching winds - asks the Lord to turn any adverse winds,
 v. war - declare that the enemy that has eaten your harvest will run out of your land,

c. Keys to prayer to bring increase to our thinking processes & to help us learn power of redemptive multiplication:

 i. breaks spirit of slumber!

  - Prov. 10:5; He that gathereth in the summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in the harvest is a son that causeth shame,
  - Jer. 8:20; The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved,

No Christian should be a passenger on the train to heaven, a spectator at the    spiritual games, or passive observer of the activities of the Church.

ii. Repent and don't look back!

  - 1John 1:9; If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness,
God is willing to save you out of every situation, but you must make the choice to fully surrender to Him & understand that His timing is perfect.

iii. Thank Him for your inheritance!

Psa. 16: 5; The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: Thou maintainest my lot,
Thank God for what He has given you to steward over and bless Him in all you do.

iv. The greater dimension of faith!

  - Math. 8:10; Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel,

  - Luke 12:28; If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and    tomorrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little    faith?
  - Mark 11:22; And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God,
   A better translation would be:
“Have God-like faith in you”, or
“Have the faith of God in you”.

 v. Be a labourer in His Kingdom!

Luke 10:2; Therefore said he unto them, the harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest,
Be available, dependable & reliable.

vi. Learn to give, impart, share!

"Freely you have received, freely give",

Mathew 10:9-10; Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses, nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.

Our giving should be cheerful, sacrificial, free, and Scriptural.

Love and Blessings
Peter and Alison

FOR YOUR PLEASURE

What a topic to think that we are to consider the pleasure of others above that of ourselves.
Remember that there is nothing more soul destroying than respectable selfishness.

We so often find that so many people have this image of self importance and as they pursue this they lose out on one of the most important privileges and blessings in life which is to consider others above themselves and to have “Big Hearts” that will promote the goodwill of others.

The world is a wonderful place and it can only be even more wonderful if we live and let live allowing the sun to shine on all...

The song “Make this World a Better Place” needs to echo and continue echoing in our hearts, minds and spirits as we accept the challenge of doing just that.

We need to, in the “Juke Box” of our hearts, select a song that says:
“He Aint Heavy He’s My Brother

WHO IS MY BROTHER (NEIGHBOUR)?

Do we need to firstly establish who my brother is so that we do not misdirect any compassion, love, caring or passion? I pray not because whatever we do and for whomever we do it must be from a heart that has a passion for the well being of that person.

The Story of The Good Samaritan is vivid in my heart and pray it will become alive in all of our hearts and stay alive for every moment of the day.

May we have eyes for those in need of practical, emotional, spiritual help and also not forgetting that there are those who just need a friend.

Whatever we set our minds and hearts to do may it be found that we do it to please them, ourselves and God even if it is at a painful price.

GOD’S SPECIAL CHILD - MOTHER TERESA

Listen to what God’s Special Child had to say:

“The most terrible poverty is loneliness and the feeling of being unloved.”

“The biggest disease today is not leprosy or tuberculosis, but rather the feeling of being unwanted.”
“There is more hunger in the world for love and appreciation than for bread.”

“We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry, naked and homeless. The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for
is the greatest poverty”. “We must start in our own homes to remedy this kind of poverty”.

“We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.”
“The miracle is not that we do this work, but that we are happy to do it.”

“I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.”
“Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat.”

“Good deeds are links that form a chain of love”.

“There should be less talk; a preaching point is not a meeting point. What do you do?”
Somebody else once said “Always preach the gospel and every now and then say something”.

Let who we are and what we do (Not what we say) be the greatest impact we make on lives

OUR GREATEST ENEMY - THE ORGANIZED CHURCH

Have you ever ridden past our modern church and seen the board you are sure to find:

We are the CHURCH that cares.

The truth is that they quickly declare that they are not a charitable institute and to add some spirituality to this they tell the needy to trust GOD.

This message of trust is to the poor un-suspecting needy people because the leaders in their quest to fulfill their dream and vision (Which they boldly declare comes from God) go on a begging spree and through guilt trips strip the poor for money to spend on worthless projects which at the best of times started in the heart of a man and not in the courts of heaven.

The way of meeting the deep needs of humanity comes via a course of some sort which has a price tag attached to it. This price tag is so designed to keep out the un-desirables or to rob them of any chance of having that or any other need met.

The church and the leaders need to learn that “That you will know the truth and the truth will set you free. This will not cost the victims of the modern church a dime but it does bring about wonderful freedom to its recipients.

Lastly the leaders and the church preachers are the ones’ who need to learn the lesson of faith and also discover that:

WE NEED TO BE THERE FOR THE PLEASURE OF THE PEOPLE

YOUR HEART and the NEEDY

The word of God declares that the HEART is desperately wicked and who can know it. It also says that the mouth speaks forth what is in the heart. A fountain cannot send forth sweet and bitter water and we need to make sure we know what water we are sending forth.
Let us remember that the Son of God wept as he looked down on Jerusalem. The state of that majestic city was in a state of ruin in His heart.
The armour bearer said in the word of God “Do whatever is in your heart and I will be with you.

It is out of our hearts that we should live and be and if we have had a life changing experience with God then our hearts will be changed and our deeds will show it and the people will acknowledge it.
Friend can I dare to challenge what is in our hearts? Do we have a passion about people and treat them with respect for just being a person and not for what they have.
If you have not already done so why not find that special place in life where you seek to please the poor, the fragile and lonely. Let us forge ahead “Making the World A Better Place”
If your BROTHER asks you to go a mile then go two and always let him feel that:

He’s not heavy He’s your BROTHER

PLEASE WHO?????

LIFE IS EXTREMELY SHORT SO LET US BE FOUND DOING THAT RIGHT THING BY PLEASING:
OTHERS
GOD
OURSELVES

Pleasing others is and is always going to be a great joy and a very satisfying experience. Let us seek the good of others as we with love, caring and empathy respect them for whom they are. Let us uphold their dignity and right to an opinion as we meet the needs in a practical way caring for their physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

Pleasing God is not that hyper spirituality that is only possible by those adorned with a HALO and who carry the biggest bible. Remember that the word of God says that if you have done any good deed to the least of these you have done it unto ME. Please Him by what we do, say and who we are and maybe like Stephen we will be the reason that he rises from His throne and stands in His KINGDOM.

Pleasing Ourselves Is this vanity at its’ best. No a thousand times no and we need to see that we are important, beautiful and not only a gift to others but a gift to our selves. Let us gaze into a mirror and say to ourselves that you are precious and I love you.

REMEMBER!!!
You Aint Heavy because you are also someone's BROTHER

I have NO doubt that God is using me to feed people, with inspired and timeous words, all over the world and to you the reader I say “Get to Know Him” and never be satisfied with what is being dished out as “A New Thing” It could cost you your place in Heaven. Make sure that you are Born Again and not attracted to a lifestyle in the church which has not challenged your life by the Word of God.

Let the beauty of Jesus be seen in me
Al His wondrous compassion and purity
Oh thou Spirit Divine all my nature refine
Till the beauty of Jesus be seen in me
0809_04.jpg
A mirror image of Him in Us is what the world needs to see.

God Bless
